Every seller on BlackSpace has a Seller Membership. Your level sets your Membership Dues and the commission you pay on each sale. You manage everything about your membership on the Membership page in your Seller Dashboard.

The membership levels

Membership Dues don't include sales tax. Where sales tax applies, BlackSpace adds it to each dues payment.

Commission is a percentage of your net sale price. It isn't charged on shipping or sales tax. Stripe's processing fee is separate, and it's taken from your earnings on every sale at every level. How payouts work for selling on BlackSpace explains your earnings.

Your 90-day free trial

• Starter and Pro start with 90 days free. You don't pay Membership Dues during the trial.
• Commission still applies from your first sale, including during the trial.
• Before you sign up, BlackSpace shows you the date your trial ends and the amount and date of your first dues payment, before sales tax.
• You get one free trial per seller account. If your account already used one on Starter or Pro, there isn't another.

When you're charged

• Your membership renews on its own. Unless you cancel before your trial ends, your first dues payment is charged the day the trial ends.
• After that, dues are charged at the start of each monthly or yearly period until you cancel.
• Dues are charged to the card you added when you signed up, or to a new card you add later.

Emails we send about your membership

These come from no-reply@mail.myblackspace.co.

• Two reminders before your free trial ends: one 8 to 15 days before, and one in the last 5 days.
• If you pay yearly, a reminder before each renewal.
• If you pay monthly, a reminder of your membership terms once a year.
• A receipt for every dues payment, showing the dues, any sales tax, and the total.

Find your membership

In your Seller Dashboard menu, click Membership. You'll see this page:

1. Your current level.
2. The date of your next dues payment.
3. Change card changes the card used for your Membership Dues.
4. Cancel cancels your membership.

Change your card

1. On the Membership page, under Payment card, click Change card.
2. Enter your new card on Stripe's page. Changing your card doesn't charge you.
3. Back on the Membership page, you'll see "Your card for Membership Dues has been updated."

If a dues payment is overdue, it's charged to your new card right away. Founding members don't see Payment card, because Founding has no dues.

If a payment doesn't go through

Stripe tries the payment again for up to two weeks. If every try fails, your membership ends, and your listings are set to pending review, so buyers can't see them. To fix a failed payment, change your card on the Membership page. The overdue payment is charged to your new card right away.

Cancel your membership

1. On the Membership page, next to Cancel your membership, click Cancel.
2. Confirm in the window that opens.

• If you cancel during your free trial, your membership stays active until the trial ends, and you aren't charged.
• If you cancel after a dues payment, your membership stays active until the end of the period you paid for. No more dues are charged.
• When your membership ends, your listings are set to pending review, and buyers can't see them.
• Membership Dues aren't refunded, including for part of a period, unless the law requires it. If dues are refunded, the sales tax on them is refunded too.

Canceling your membership doesn't close your BlackSpace account. To close your account, email sellers@myblackspace.co.

Change your level or how often you pay

To move between Starter and Pro, or between monthly and yearly:

1. Cancel your current membership (see above).
2. On the Membership page, click Switch Pack on the level you want, and finish checkout.

Switch Pack won't work while your current membership is still active. It asks you to cancel first.

• The new level's dues, plus any sales tax, are charged when you choose it. Any free trial you have left ends that day.
• Time left on your current period isn't credited toward the new level.
• The new level's commission applies to sales you make after the change.

Founding Membership

• Founding Membership is by invitation only. BlackSpace offers it to attendees of its launch events and to makers it invites directly. It can't be purchased.
• It has no dues and no trial, and an 8% commission on each sale for as long as you keep the same seller account. It can't be transferred.
• Founding ends, and can't be restored, if you cancel it, move to Starter or Pro, close your account, or your Seller Membership is revoked.
• If you click Cancel, or choose Starter or Pro, BlackSpace warns you that Founding and its 8% rate end right away and for good. Nothing changes until you confirm.
• Moving from Founding to Starter or Pro starts your 90-day free trial, unless your account already used one.

If Membership Dues change

BlackSpace emails you at least 30 days before changing Membership Dues. The change applies from your first dues payment after that notice period, and you can cancel before then.
