Whether you’re running a seasonal promotion or just want to spotlight a product, offering discounts is a great way to drive more sales and reward your customers. On BlackSpace, you have two main tools to make that happen: setting sale prices directly on products and creating coupon codes for shoppers to apply at checkout.
Sale price on a product
If you’ve got a product you’d like to discount directly—without requiring your customer to enter a code—using a sale price is the way to go.
- From your Seller Dashboard, go to Products.
- Find the product you want to put on sale and click Edit.
- In the product editor, locate the Price field (your full, everyday price).
- Next to it, find the Discounted Price field and enter the sale amount you wish to offer.
- (Optional) Click the Schedule link below the Discounted Price to choose Sale Start and Sale End dates.
- Click Save Product to apply your changes.
- Your product will now display with the original price crossed out and the new sale price visible.
Bulk purchase discount
You can also set a bulk discount at the product level. With this typed of discount, you can set a minimum purchase quantity for a specific product and select a percentage discount.
From your Seller Dashboard, scroll down to the Discount Options section and click “Enable bulk discount”. From there, simply set the minimum quantity and discount percentage.
Your customers will see your bulk discount offer on the product page.
Storewide coupon
Maybe instead of—or in addition to—setting a sale price, you want to offer a coupon that applies to all the products in your shop. This is a great way to build loyalty, promote special occasions, or welcome new customers.
- In your Seller Dashboard, navigate to Coupons and click Add New Coupon.
- In the Coupon Title field, enter the code customers will use at checkout (e.g., SAVE20 or WELCOME10).
- Under Discount Type, choose one of:
- Percentage Discount (off the total order)
- Fixed Cart Discount (flat amount off the entire cart)
- Fixed Product Discount (fixed amount per item)
- Enter your Coupon Amount (the percentage or flat value to subtract).
- (Optional) Click Schedule and set your Coupon Start and Coupon End dates for an automatic limited‑time offer.
- Review all settings to ensure accuracy.
- Click Create Coupon to activate your storewide coupon.
Once the details are filled in, go ahead and publish the coupon. From that point on, customers can apply the code to get the discount at checkout—and it’ll work for all the items in your store.
Product-specific coupon
- From your Seller Dashboard, navigate to Coupons and click Add New Coupon.
- In the Coupon Title field, enter the code your customers will use (e.g., SAVE20).
- Under Discount Type, choose one of:
- Percentage Discount
- Fixed Cart Discount
- Fixed Product Discount
- Enter your Coupon Amount (the percentage or flat value).
- Scroll down to the Product section.
- In the Products field, start typing a product name and select each item you want the coupon to apply to.
- (Optional) In Exclude Products, start typing and select any items you want to omit.
- (Optional) Set a Minimum Amount.
- (Optional) Under Usage Limit per User, choose the number of times a specific user can use the coupon code, or Usage Limit to limit the total number of times the coupon can be used.
- Click Create Coupon to activate your product‑specific coupon.
A few helpful tips
If you’re not sure when to use a sale price versus a coupon, here’s a quick rule of thumb: sale prices are visible right on the product page, while coupons require action from the customer at checkout. Both have their place, and you can even use them together for layered promotions.
For example, you might put a product on sale and offer a storewide coupon to encourage bigger carts. Or you could keep everything at full price but send exclusive coupon codes to repeat buyers as a thank-you.
Whatever approach you take, don’t forget to promote your discounts! Share coupon codes on social media, include them in your product descriptions or shop banner, and let your audience know about limited-time sales before they’re gone.
Discounts are more than just price cuts—they’re tools to tell your story, build your brand, and create excitement around your products. And on BlackSpace, you’re in control of how and when you use them.
