How to set up product add-ons

How to set up product add-ons

Product Add-ons allow you to offer customizable options that enhance or personalize a product, giving customers more flexibility when making a purchase. Add-ons can include things like gift wrapping, engraving, custom text fields, dropdown selections, or extra features for free or an additional charge. They’re especially useful when you want to offer optional upgrades or tailor-made details without creating multiple product variations. By using add-ons, you can provide a better shopping experience and potentially increase your average order value.

Global and individual Product Add-on options

You have two ways to create product add-ons: globally or individually. Global add-ons apply to all the products in your store, making them perfect for options you offer across the board—like gift wrapping, personalization, or extended warranties. Once set up, these add-ons will automatically appear on every product page, saving you time and keeping things consistent.

Individual add-ons, on the other hand, are created for a specific product and will only show up on that product’s listing. This is ideal when you’re offering something unique, like a framed print where buyers can choose the frame type or finish. Choosing the right type of add-on helps you keep your listings clear, relevant, and tailored to your customers’ needs.
