How to manage product SEO

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, plays a key role in helping your products get discovered by shoppers through search engines like Google. By customizing your product’s SEO settings—such as the title, description, slug, and focus keyword—you improve the chances of your product appearing in relevant search results. This increased visibility can lead to more clicks, more traffic to your store, and ultimately, more sales. The preview block shows you how your product will be displayed in search results, allowing you to fine-tune the content for maximum impact. Taking the time to optimize each product with clear, keyword-rich SEO settings is a smart way to boost your store’s overall performance.

To optimize your product for search engines, start by heading over to your Seller Dashboard and clicking on Products. From there, select the specific product you’d like to improve. As you scroll down the product page, you’ll find the SEO section.

You’ll notice that some SEO settings may have already been added by BlackSpace, but you have full control to make your own adjustments. Customize the “title”, “description”, “slug”, and “focus keyword” to better match what potential customers might be searching for. As you make changes, a preview block will show you how your product could appear in search engine results like Google, helping you visualize its impact.

Title:

The “title” is the clickable headline that appears in search engine results. It tells both search engines and shoppers what your product is about. A well-crafted, keyword-rich title can help improve your ranking and encourage users to click on your listing. Keep it clear, concise, and relevant to the product.

Description:

The “description”, or meta description, is the short summary that appears below the title in search results. While it doesn’t directly affect your ranking, it plays an important role in encouraging clicks. A compelling description that clearly communicates the value of your product can help convince shoppers to visit your page.

Slug:

Note: This cannot be changed. The “slug” is the part of your product URL that comes after your main domain (e.g., myblackspace.co/modern-frame-print). A clean, simple slug that includes relevant keywords helps both shoppers and search engines understand what the product is. Avoid using long or irrelevant words—keep it short and descriptive.

Optimizing these elements helps search engines better understand your product and increases the chances of your listing showing up in relevant search results, ultimately driving more traffic to your store.
