Downloadable and virtual products are intangible items that you can offer online. These products don’t require physical shipping and can include items like eBooks, software, music files, or online courses. They’re perfect for instant delivery and provide your customers with convenient, on-demand access.
To get started, follow the directions to list a simple product and select the “Downloadable” option. This will create a new section below titled Downloadable Options with three additional fields.
Name: The “Name” field allows you to specify what the downloaded file will be called. For example, your original file might be named something like “new-album-updated-jan-12.zip,” but you can set the download name to “New Album” for a cleaner and more user-friendly experience.
If your files are hosted on your own site, you can simply click “Choose File” to upload them directly. Alternatively, you can serve files from external platforms like Dropbox, Google Drive, or any other file hosting service you prefer. This flexibility makes it easy to manage and deliver your digital products.
Download Limit: This setting allows you to control how many times a customer can download the product. You can set a specific number or
leave it blank for unlimited downloads.
Download Expiration: This determines how long the download link will remain active. You can set the number of days the link will be available or
leave it blank for no expiration.
